Mattia Bellucci: “I Wasn’t a Great Junior”

Mattia Bellucci: “I Wasn’t a Great Junior”

While at the Italian Open in Rome with ASICS Tennis, I got the chance to sit down with Mattia Bellucci for a quick chat about his rise into the ATP Top 100.

Mattia opens up about why he considers himself an average junior, how he developed later than many top players, and what changed once he started competing regularly at ATP level. We also chat about the pressure and energy of playing in Rome in front of the Italian crowd, life on tour, and some of the things club players get wrong when trying to improve.

We also touch on his move to becoming an official  ASICS athlete after previously buying and wearing their shoes himself, and why he recently switched into the Solution Speed FF 4.

This is a shorter episode than usual, but there’s plenty of insight packed into it. I also recorded a chat with Luciano Darderi while in Rome, which will be live in the coming days.
